When PUBG hit its fifth anniversary, the OG battle royale aimed to toast – and reconnect with – both casual and hardcore players. So we did what any good party host would do by turning the celebration into a competition with the PUBG Awards: a UGC-based contest that rewarded thrills over skills.

Our competition needed to be an open invitation. That meant creating weekly challenges that any player could enter and win, newbies included. So we designed each category around approachable stunts and thrilling plays instead of high-barrier displays of skill. And best of all, every submission was tagged for the community to praise, share and elevate.
