As unforgettable as it is unforgiving, Cuphead’s smashing reception empowered the cel-animated game to go beyond consoles and become a real cartoon show. Joining arms with Netflix, we created a behind-the-scenes look at the intersection of modern gaming, and old-school animation.

Unlike many games-turned-shows, The Cuphead Show retained a large cast of creators from the original IP. We leaned into this angle by focusing on the creative bridge from game to cartoon: transferring animation style, casting character voices, and infusing visual humor to create a show as delightfully unique as the original title.
